| Job Description: | The RF Simulation Engineer will work closely with RF and MM Wave Engineers to guide the packaging of next generation optical transponders. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with focused research in microwaves and electro-magnetics. This position typically requires a Masters in Engineering with 3 years of experience, or a PhD in Engineering with 1 year of relevant work experience. The successful candidate will know the following simulation tools: HFSS, IE3D and SONET. S/he will also have experience with high-speed interconnects. Modeling Techniques such as: Spectrum Domain Approach, method of Momentum, Transmission Line Metrics, and Method of Lines will be needed to determine the best method of partition. Candidates must also have experience with transmission structure such as micro-strip lines, SPW, coplanar wave-guides and strip-lines, and slot-lines. It would be a plus if candidates have had exposure to LTCC, HTCC, microwave substrates (Duroid), OC 192 / OC 768, microwave circuits (amplifiers, combiners) and packaging simulation.
